Children have been learning about 'Child of Hope' in Uganda today and how we can support the charity to continue to provide education to children there. Ks1 loved making numbers in nature and Hare class have been making beads for bracelets from magazines. We are asking each child to donate £1 if they can to child of hope via our Just giving page. So far we have raised £80 towards our £160 target. Thank you to all those who have contributed! https://www.justgiving.com/page/stnicholasporton?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL

Thank you to everyone who has sent in Sponsorship money via the Just Giving Page. We are £600 towards our £1000 target. Have you sent in your sponsorship money yet? Our sponsored run event is finishing on Friday this week so don't forget to get collecting and send that money in. Funds raised are all for the PTA and will go to ensure each class trip has subsidised transport and each class has a book corner.
What a beautiful way to start the day. Each term we have a Spirituality worship where children are asked 'What does your soul need to sing today?' Children chose between prayer and mediation, mindful colouring, singing and a nature walk. Children from all year group spent time together exploring their Spirituality whether that be connection to yourself, others, God or the world around us. The children said it was "a great way to start the day," and "it made me feel calm." #weareSpiritual
Having fun in the sunshine with our new Reception children this morning who were looking very smart on picture day! They have all settled in so well and we love having them and their families in our St Nicholas family. #stnicholasporton
If you would like to book a tour it couldn't be easier. See our website and click on 'Book a Tour' to find a date and time that suits your family. We can't wait to meet you!
On Friday St Nicholas are raising funds for Child of Hope through a Give and Learn day. Children will experience the rich cultural heritage of Uganda by teaching and learning Ugandan style, while raising funds for the education of underprivileged Ugandan students. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to Child of Hope, so it's the most efficient way to give - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. You can donate to my JustGiving page by clicking here https://www.justgiving.com/page/stnicholasporton?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=EM JustGiving sends your donation straight to Child of Hope and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. Thank you for your support!
The children made the most of the chalk paint created as part of yesterdays building work at forest school today!
Fibre is FINALLY coming to St Nicholas School Porton thanks to Wessex Internet who have literally gone out of their way to get the cables to the school grounds. Some children yesterday had the honour of watching the cables come under the road and onto site. We can not thank the team enough for all they have done to support the school to receive this much needed technology. #community
